We introduce the brand-new Shimano Exsence Spin Reel. Exsence is a premium top shelf spinning reel ideally made for sport fishing anglers that love a challenge on light class braids. Shimano Excense Spin Reel Buyer’s Guide

Shimano Exsence reels are suited to inshore sport fishing. Due to their shallower style spools, they don’t hold a lot of heavier class lines so we therefore recommend using braided lines of around 15lb or less or mono of 5kg or less. These reels are of size ideal for some thrilling sport fishing for species like snapper, jew, barra, big perch (or even kingfish in big harbour systems such as Sydney harbour).

For best performance, we suggest using with a 6ft to 7ft 6inch graphite rod with a line rating anywhere from 4kg through to around 10kg.

  • Built with a Magnesium Hagane body the Shimano Excense Spin reel is light weight brilliance. In fact, they are one of the lightest weight reels for its size class that we know of. This translates to less angler fatigue, better feel and overall improved performance.
  • X-Protect is a water repellent system that helps to keep saltwater and freshwater out of all the key components. X-Protect is included in this range of reels.
  • The Shimano Exsence Spin Reel doesn’t hold a great deal of heavy line. They are designed for lighter class braids of 15lb or less. This further helps to keep weight at a minimum and therefore makes this reel an excellent choice for best performance when fishing with the likes of soft plastic lures or squidgies as well as vibes, small spinners or micro jigs.
  • Rapid Fire, Rigid support, Cross Carbon Drag system translates to amazing stopping power and silky smooth performance.
